On this occasion, we will listen to a recently premiered work by the young Mexican composer Abraham Calva, who has a degree in Composition from the University of Guadalajara. He has won several awards and has been a recipient of the PECDA Jalisco, he is currently director of the Pedro Bocotán Orchestra of the Autonomous University of Jalisco and composer and resident arranger of the Chamber Orchestra of the same university. In his own words, the composer mentions that his music takes up Baroque musical resources as well as folk music from different latitudes.

Se va y se corre, is a set of 54 pieces for viola and piano that maestro Calva composed, due to the lack of repertoire for the instrument, this work was inspired by the Mexican game of the Lottery, which consists of a series of 54 cards with different drawings, which are drawn at random and are noted on a card or cardboard, to win there are different ways, forming lines, diagonals or even filling all the images on the cardboard.

The composer mentions that "it could be thought that the viola has a leading role being supported by a simple accompaniment by the piano, however, in this case, both instruments build the music and support each other, sometimes even, the viola takes the role of companion ".

In the same way, the complete work covers different styles, forms, and musical genres from different latitudes and even from different periods, with this, the composer offers a work by way of being seen in a pedagogical way, so that students can get to know this diversity of styles, each piece is a miniature with a maximum duration of approximately two minutes.
It was recently premiered on September 30th in a virtual way by a group of Mexican violists who came together for this cause, violists from various parts of Mexico and even some outside the country, who had the support of pianists to record the pieces. The work was presented as the Lottery game, that is, it did not follow an order, but they were randomly drawing the cards and putting the corresponding piece, in this way, it also becomes a didactic concert to interact and play with the public.

In this virtual premiere participated: Sheila Miranda (viola) and Blanca Fuentes (piano), Oscar Pinedo (viola) and Mara Arroyo (piano), Gerardo Aponte (viola) and Oscar Espinoza (piano), Vidal Verástegui (viola) and Carolina Segales (piano), Ricardo Ramos (viola) and Yijie Liu (piano), Luis Chab (viola) with digital accompaniment, Henry Arévalo (viola) and Eduardo de Santiago (piano), Varinia Vega (piano) and José María Jiménez (piano) , Laura Aguirre (viola) and Pedro Martínez (piano), Gianni Gambini (viola) and Enrique Rodríguez (piano).
